If you’re considering becoming a blood donor, thank you — your decision can help save lives. Before donating, please make sure you meet the following criteria:
Age: You must be between 18 and 65 years old
Weight: You must weigh over 50 kg
Health: You should be in good general health, with no recent colds or flu-like symptoms
ID: Please bring a valid national identity card
Fasting: 4 hours without solids and dairy products
(You may consume sugary drinks, juices, tea, coffee, mate, soft drinks, fruit, etc. up until the time of donation.)
- Do drink plenty of water — staying well hydrated is encouraged!
Rest: You should have had at least 6 hours of sleep the night before
Donation history:
– Men: must not have donated in the last 3 months
– Women: must not have donated in the last 4 months
Medication: Ideally, you should not be taking any medication (however, consult beforehand, as some may be permitted).
Travel abroad: You must wait one month after returning from an international trip.
Health condition: You must not be experiencing any infectious or allergic conditions at the time. You must not have had hepatitis after the age of 10.
It is essential that the donor answers the pre-interview medical questionnaire truthfully. Blood donation is a social and altruistic commitment that helps save lives.

You currently have a cold or flu-like symptoms.
You have had a tattoo or piercing within the past 12 months.
You are a woman who has donated blood in the past 4 months.
You are a man who has donated blood in the past 3 months.
You have had hepatitis after the age of 10.
You are currently in the breastfeeding period.
You are taking medication:
- Please do not suspend any treatment on your own, as doing so may be harmful to your health. However, it is important to consult the National Blood Service to confirm whether your medication poses any contraindications for donation.
